This 66m2 custom small home is located in the front garden, but is camouflaged from the street thanks to surrounding trees.

Camellia Cottage's design creates a private space for mum & dad, with a garden separating the two homes as well.

We have maximised space by eliminating all corridors. There is a wide high window in the living room looking onto lush trees which shades the room from the sun, and brings nature into the home.

Camellia Cottage has two bedrooms and two deliberate separate decks. One is an entrance porch, and the other is a private deck looking onto established trees.

Reinforced plywood has been used in the bathroom to future proof it for when the occupants get older and want to install handrails.

Accessibility will be key for the future use and value of the home.

This Funky Little Shack means Reon & Julie can stay close to their family as they enter their golden years. But they still maintain their privacy and independence.
