Vanderfarm
Esk Granny Flat
Check out this Esk granny flat built as a primary dwelling in the Somerset Council area.
Vanderfarm is not just about a Funky Little Shack, but a sustainable lifestyle.
Kathleen purchased this gorgeous property in Esk for its peaceful and earthy environment, and to create a simple minimalist lifestyle.
She now has the opportunity to be completely off-grid with the installation of solar panels, 2 x 22,000 litre water tanks and an eco friendly worm farm which disposes of all wastes and grey water.
How does this work? The waste goes into a holding tank where worms break it down and turn it into worm juice, then gets pumped out to a transportation area. Similar to a septic tank, but without the chemicals.
Eco friendly options were very important to Kathleen, who has a lung condition which affects her health regularly. She now feels confident in her environment and being completely self-sufficient.
Seeking minimalistic living Kathleen chose a 55m2 studio-style cabin. This cabin has a full kitchen, large bathroom with walk in shower and combined laundry, and a large open space for living, with an area for sleeping off to one side.
This cabin has an additional 21m2 of deck space with 2 decks, off the bedroom and living spaces, and large sliding glass doors and windows to bring the outdoors in.
Kathleen chose Scandinavian interior styling and colour scheme, with butlers sinks to go with her minimalist, yet country feel cabin.
Kathleen’s new eco cabin goes perfectly with her electric vehicle!
Another great build from the team at Outright Building.
