'Amaroo' has been designed for Wes & Jo. They wanted to make the most of their property by creating a two bedroom small home to rent out under Queensland's new secondary dwelling laws.
They are now legally renting out this beautiful small home - and enjoying a 12.5% return on investment.
We designed this modern granny flat with an open plan living and kitchen area, combined bathroom and laundry, and creative L-shape internal layout creating two entrances to a 20m2 deck via large sliding glass doors.
The kitchen includes space for a double door fridge, overhead cupboards, soft closing drawers, and a stone bench top & breakfast bar.
A large walk-in shower has been included in the bathroom/laundry, with ample storage and space for a tub, washer and dryer.
The home has been specifically located on the property to create privacy from the main home, nestled amid a beautiful backyard garden and trees.
It is also orientated towards north to make the most of natural sunlight all year round. This is one of our primary goals when designing a small home - maximising passive solar sustainability.
There is space for a single car to park outside Amaroo for the future tenant, allowing them to come and go in privacy down an extended driveway.
Amaroo is Indigenous for 'beautiful place' - and we think it lives up to that name.
In just one day of advertising, Wes & Jo had eight enquiries wanting to live in this home.
