Narelle always loved the Hamptons style home design, and was thrilled when her daughter Sarah came across our website.
With Sarah and her young family moving from Yeppoon, the family saw the benefits of living together. So they purchased this large Bannockburn block to build a granny flat on.
They chose a rich dark exterior, Taubmanns Viking Grey, to contrast boldly against a white roof, windows and trimmings.
This dramatic colour scheme is flowed consistently both outside and within the home, and paired with gorgeous timber accents of Merbau decking and light oak flooring.
Narelle and Luke love to socialise so we designed a huge L-shaped timber deck and adjoining open plan kitchen and living space as their perfect solution.
The large 1400mm x 1400mm kitchen island bench is a focal point, used for cooking, dining and bringing friends together.
We chose white with marbled grey stone for the bench tops to blend nicely against textured grey cupboards, drawers and custom designed bench posts.
A wine rack elegantly incorporated into the island (and close to the deck for easy access!).
This Shack has two large bedrooms with built in robes, high raked ceilings and additional wall storage in the main bedroom.
A separate toilet and laundry with elegant Hamptons style linen cupboard and internal doors.
The bathroom layout was all about balance, harmony and functionality. A single frameless glass panel separates a large open shower and bath space.
The feature tiled shower niche is perched opposite the shower with a double shower rose. While the wall mounted Hamptons style vanity and shavers cabinet adds easy access storage.
From Narelle & Luke
"We recently purchased a property of over an acre with our daughter, and wanted to add a separate dwelling. But we didn’t want something that looked like a ‘toilet block’.
We wanted to be close to family and neighbours, but maintain our independence.
My daughter was researching on the internet and came across Funky Little Shack and said we must look at some of their designs.
We LOVED the Hamptons look! The team at Funky Little Shack asked us what we were looking for and our price range, then took us to see their current projects.
We got to meet and see Ellen in her Shack which was really nice, and this reassured us, showed they were confident in their product.
The team was super transparent, gave use great service and communication. Thanks team for our fabulous Shack."
